Woodstock and bungee-jumping, or why is it worth to take action!

Woodstock and bungee-jumping — how does this relate to my blog? Today’s post will have more relaxed and inspiring vibe and will be about the Woodstock Festival, fun and action. It was 2014 —  I had been a waiter at a Krakow restaurant for almost a year, Route 94 was the king on the radio with his My Love

This blog post answers the following questions:

  1. What happened at Woodstock Festival when stepping out of the comfort zone?
  2. How did facing fears at Woodstock lead to memorable experiences?
  3. What lessons were learned from Woodstock adventures?
  4. How to overcome fear and embrace new experiences?
  5. How taking action brings unexpected positive changes in life.

After the big changes in 2013, my life finally became colourful. My workmate asked me if I was going to the Woodstock Festival with him because he had always wanted to go there. My first reaction was negative and I started making up different excuses to avoid going. It was something crazy and unknown. Dirt and slaughter everywhere — why should I go there? , I thought. However, a few days before the deadline I was finally persuaded, even though I was afraid of the unknown and inconvenience. However, I decided to overcome my comfort zone.

Fear of the unknown often steals great moments

Are you afraid of trying something new? It doesn’t matter if it’s a trip to a cool place, moving out, changing job or surroundings, opening up your own business, or picking somebody up. My great fears about going to Woodstock quickly began to turn into the best memories of my life. Travelling for 15 hours by train, sipping on cider along the way, and finally arriving at the scene instantly dispelled my fear. Hundreds of thousands of people and an amazing atmosphere. There were three of us, my work buddy, and another girl who worked for us as a bartender. We met wonderful people and we created a common camp in the woods. The climate was brilliant and everyone enjoyed the moment.

Woodstock and bungee-jumping — go crazy sometimes and don’t be afraid

kostrzyn nad odrą

Having great time during several concerts within this festival, I hurt myself multiple times, got kicked solid several times in the head with combat boots, got kicked twice in the crotch (I remember every time) and someone kicked me in the knee (because of this injury I had to give up a few trips to the mountains, and my left knee hurt for a good few years). However, I didn’t regret any of the moments of play even for a while. Every night, I slept in a tent with my new girlfriend and never let anyone else in.

Bungee-jumping

I decided to do bungee-jumping from a dedicated crane deployed in the middle of the festival venue. I was very afraid and the price was high. My new girlfriend and I have been waiting in the sun for a good few hours. Finally, our time came and the crane took us high, where I could see the entire festival spot. The ropes attached to our legs (we jumped in tandem) pulled me so hard — I thought I’d fall out of the cab before we are up. The countdown was quick and the staff pushed us out without thinking. The moment of jumping from the cab at an altitude of 80 meters is such an amazing experience that it is hard to describe it. My legs were almost ripped out of me, but somehow I survived all this. I definitely felt alive.

What are you afraid of doing?

How many times in your life have you hesitated to do something new? Are you afraid take the risk because you might fail? What if you succeed? Maybe this time, what you will do will come out pretty cool and you’ll get life-time memories. Maybe your goals, big and small ones, can be achieved? Everyone has different objectives, but surely you’ll have situations where giving up will deprive you of wonderful experiences. Don’t let fear take away the cool experiences you can get from life. Don’t let it take your dreams and ideas away. Try — what do you have to lose?

Action is most important!

Remember, if you don’t have much idea what to do, it doesn’t mean it’s not worth working. I moved to a new city years ago (to Krakow) I had no plan for myself, nor did I know what I would do in a few years’ time. However, I was not happy living in a small hometown and I just wanted to change my life. My actions and my exit from my comfort zone have made my life gradually change for the better.

I read a lot of books and worked as a warehouse employee and then as a driver in a restaurant. All I knew was that I wanted to develop and improve myself. Over time, more and more have changed and I no longer recognize the old myself. The story of bungee-jumping and going to Woodstock is just a small example, but a year before that, moving to Krakow I would not even think that forcing myself to act would result in such changes and experiences. You can never predict the effects of your actions, but remember that taking action and moving your ass will result in many cool events that you don’t even expect!

00:00:00,560 –> 00:00:05,399
Hi, I’m Tomek!
From Waiter To Millionaire. Welcome.

2
00:00:05,400 –> 00:00:10,814
Today, I’ll tell you why you should act,
even if you’re not sure

3
00:00:10,815 –> 00:00:13,714
what to do and what you want.

4
00:00:13,715 –> 00:00:17,914
Why is it worth doing anything?
Today you’ll know.

5
00:00:17,915 –> 00:00:20,786
I invite you to watch this episode.

6
00:00:25,920 –> 00:00:30,359
I’m in Kraków downtown on the roof.

7
00:00:30,360 –> 00:00:34,759
See how beautiful it is.
Great weather, May, wonderful.

8
00:00:34,760 –> 00:00:38,599
It’s worth to act
in order to be in such a place.

9
00:00:38,600 –> 00:00:40,860
What this episode is about?

10
00:00:40,880 –> 00:00:46,039
At first, I’d like to tell you
my personal story.

11
00:00:46,040 –> 00:00:51,614
Namely, in 2014 I was on Woodstock.

12
00:00:51,615 –> 00:00:56,628
Everyone knows this cool festival.
In Poland it’s sensational.

13
00:00:56,629 –> 00:00:58,380
But how I got there?

14
00:00:58,400 –> 00:01:03,142
I had been working as a waiter here,
in Kraków downtown

15
00:01:03,143 –> 00:01:07,839
for half a year or a year
and my life got a little better,

16
00:01:07,840 –> 00:01:12,371
because a year earlier
I moved to Kraków and figured out my life

17
00:01:12,372 –> 00:01:14,400
which became much better.

18
00:01:14,401 –> 00:01:16,756
But what about Woodstock?

19
00:01:16,757 –> 00:01:19,957
My friend from work
offered me to go there.

20
00:01:19,958 –> 00:01:25,260
I was very afraid, thinking
why should I go to some festival.

21
00:01:25,280 –> 00:01:29,414
I’ve never been there.
It will be terrifying, dirty, hard.

22
00:01:29,415 –> 00:01:31,243
It’s not worth it.

23
00:01:31,244 –> 00:01:36,560
I tried not to talk about this topic,
but friend was nagging me so much

24
00:01:36,560 –> 00:01:41,357
that eventually I changed my mind,
even though I was scared to act,

25
00:01:41,358 –> 00:01:44,359
to risk and I was afraid of the unknown.

26
00:01:44,360 –> 00:01:49,600
And so we went, 3 of us,
because our female friend joined us.

27
00:01:49,601 –> 00:01:54,399
It turned out to be brilliant.
We had a great time for a few days.

28
00:01:54,400 –> 00:01:57,560
We drank cider
till we dropped on the train.

29
00:01:57,560 –> 00:02:01,929
We didn’t have anything to eat,
slept in a camp in the woods,

30
00:02:01,930 –> 00:02:05,290
met great friends,
went to sensational concerts

31
00:02:05,320 –> 00:02:10,099
where I got hit in the head
with a shoe probably 10 times

32
00:02:10,100 –> 00:02:16,128
my ankles were chafed, I got hit in
crotch 2 times – I remember it exactly.

33
00:02:16,129 –> 00:02:21,657
I was all bruised
and I have knee injury to this day.

34
00:02:21,658 –> 00:02:24,890
It was tough,
but the memories are amazing.

35
00:02:24,920 –> 00:02:27,057
We were having fun every day.

36
00:02:27,058 –> 00:02:30,700
The 15-hour train trip
was simply brilliant.

37
00:02:30,701 –> 00:02:33,571
Sleeping in tents, new people.

38
00:02:33,572 –> 00:02:39,239
Simply beautiful memories
that I carry in me to this day

39
00:02:39,240 –> 00:02:41,820
and I love to go back to them.

40
00:02:41,840 –> 00:02:45,314
What’s the point of this story?
I was so scared.

41
00:02:45,315 –> 00:02:48,086
This story is the example of it.

42
00:02:48,087 –> 00:02:52,400
Also, I won’t forget bungee jumping
where we waited

43
00:02:52,401 –> 00:02:55,086
half a day in the sun to do it.

44
00:02:55,087 –> 00:03:00,556
In festival’s center there’s a big crane
for bungee jumping.

45
00:03:00,557 –> 00:03:03,986
We jumped as two people in tandem.

46
00:03:03,987 –> 00:03:09,300
And we waited for half a day,
all sunburned, it was very expensive.

47
00:03:09,301 –> 00:03:14,771
I remember going to the top of the crane
and our time has come.

48
00:03:14,772 –> 00:03:19,100
Before we reached the top,
they already pushed us.

49
00:03:19,120 –> 00:03:23,229
I didn’t even have time to think
whether I want to jump.

50
00:03:23,230 –> 00:03:26,486
They pushed us
and didn’t give time to think.

51
00:03:26,487 –> 00:03:30,529
The feeling was incredible,
just as great as was the fear.

52
00:03:30,530 –> 00:03:33,771
We jumped right in
and it was brilliant.

53
00:03:33,772 –> 00:03:36,000
The memories are great.

54
00:03:36,001 –> 00:03:41,400
But why am I telling this story, as
this video’s title – why you should act?

55
00:03:41,401 –> 00:03:45,340
It was 2004 – I have
great memories and cool experiences.

56
00:03:45,360 –> 00:03:48,580
But a year earlier,
my situation was terrible.

57
00:03:48,581 –> 00:03:52,686
I didn’t know what to do
and I decided to move to Kraków,

58
00:03:52,687 –> 00:03:56,899
even though I had no job,
I didn’t have a plan

59
00:03:56,900 –> 00:03:59,586
and didn’t know what to do.

60
00:03:59,587 –> 00:04:05,128
But despite this desperate life-situation,
I decided to act and try,

61
00:04:05,129 –> 00:04:08,757
not knowing what to expect back then –
and I acted.

62
00:04:08,758 –> 00:04:10,414
I went to Kraków.

63
00:04:10,415 –> 00:04:14,743
I was working in the warehouse
and soon they kicked me out.

64
00:04:14,744 –> 00:04:19,120
I was a driver at a restaurant,
where I became a waiter.

65
00:04:19,120 –> 00:04:23,443
I didn’t know what to do,
but I exposed to acting, to life.

66
00:04:23,444 –> 00:04:26,357
I took chance, risked, went for it.

67
00:04:26,358 –> 00:04:31,986
It was hard, but I decided to act
and did it.

68
00:04:31,987 –> 00:04:35,657
It led me to a place
I didn’t expect to be.

69
00:04:35,658 –> 00:04:40,485
Year later, I’m a waiter,
working with cool people in a cool place.

70
00:04:40,486 –> 00:04:46,100
I went to Woodstock, met wonderful
people and I have memories for a lifetime.

71
00:04:46,120 –> 00:04:50,757
This all didn’t result from the fact
that I planned this leave,

72
00:04:50,758 –> 00:04:57,719
but because I wanted to act –
not knowing what to do, I just acted.

73
00:04:57,720 –> 00:05:01,129
Despite the fact that
I didn’t know the outcome.

74
00:05:01,130 –> 00:05:05,686
I just wanted to leave my hometown
and I was in a hole.

75
00:05:05,687 –> 00:05:08,571
I didn’t know what to expect.

76
00:05:08,572 –> 00:05:12,743
Of course, I read some books,
to get back on track.

77
00:05:12,744 –> 00:05:18,329
I was achieving progress,
but it was a long way to the present me.

78
00:05:18,330 –> 00:05:23,714
But such a simple action,
exposing yourself to life,

79
00:05:23,715 –> 00:05:29,371
has brought unexpected results that
I wouldn’t have even dreamed of,

80
00:05:29,372 –> 00:05:31,300
that I didn’t plan.

81
00:05:31,301 –> 00:05:36,585
I want to tell you about it, as I witness
this kind of things to this day.

82
00:05:36,586 –> 00:05:40,914
Once I learned that action of any sort
with unknown outcome,

83
00:05:40,915 –> 00:05:46,100
whether opening a new business
or releasing a product on Amazon,

84
00:05:46,101 –> 00:05:51,143
or approaching a person you like,
or changing job or place –

85
00:05:51,144 –> 00:05:56,943
anything that brings risk and causes fear
because of trying new things –

86
00:05:56,944 –> 00:06:02,157
but if you try to expose
yourself to some risk and begin to act,

87
00:06:02,158 –> 00:06:07,729
then you don’t even realize how after
a month, a year, maybe 5 years,

88
00:06:07,730 –> 00:06:11,171
what impact does this have on your life.

89
00:06:11,172 –> 00:06:15,943
How many cool things can happen
when you decide to act,

90
00:06:15,944 –> 00:06:21,029
get out of your comfort zone
and just expose yourself to life.

91
00:06:21,030 –> 00:06:25,229
Of course, you need to plan your life
and know what to do,

92
00:06:25,230 –> 00:06:28,186
but if you don’t act,
nothing will happen.

93
00:06:28,187 –> 00:06:31,657
But if you act despite
not knowing what to do,

94
00:06:31,658 –> 00:06:35,043
then you’ll see
that miracles can happen.

95
00:06:35,044 –> 00:06:40,400
For example, when I started reading
my first motivational books,

96
00:06:40,401 –> 00:06:46,970
I didn’t know what will come out of it,
but in time I focused on online business.

97
00:06:46,971 –> 00:06:51,829
I acted, tried, published my books
and also didn’t know the outcome.

98
00:06:51,830 –> 00:06:54,414
I was failing, but I was also trying.

99
00:06:54,415 –> 00:06:59,043
It led me to creating
more than 500 products on Amazon

100
00:06:59,044 –> 00:07:01,820
which sell well and it changed my life.

101
00:07:01,821 –> 00:07:04,986
I opened my blog
because I moved here,

102
00:07:04,987 –> 00:07:09,714
went through difficult things
and dared to do something.

103
00:07:09,715 –> 00:07:11,929
I was a waiter. Great job.

104
00:07:11,930 –> 00:07:15,286
Over the years, I’ve met
many wonderful people.

105
00:07:15,287 –> 00:07:18,340
Then I became
a manager of this restaurant.

106
00:07:18,360 –> 00:07:22,586
Then I started my online business.
Now I’m creating a blog.

107
00:07:22,587 –> 00:07:26,757
I didn’t exactly know
what I’ll be writing there,

108
00:07:26,758 –> 00:07:30,886
but once I started,
thousands of topics appeared.

109
00:07:30,887 –> 00:07:36,486
I’ve been blogging since last year, 2017,
and I’ve met many people

110
00:07:36,487 –> 00:07:39,943
who I didn’t expect to meet.

111
00:07:39,944 –> 00:07:45,129
Opening a blog simply was a decision
and going into the unknown.

112
00:07:45,130 –> 00:07:49,886
It required a lot of work,
but now I meet wonderful people

113
00:07:49,887 –> 00:07:54,371
who also run blogs, online business.

114
00:07:54,372 –> 00:07:58,857
Now, such miracles happen
that I wouldn’t have believed

115
00:07:58,858 –> 00:08:00,929
when I started this blog.

116
00:08:00,930 –> 00:08:05,400
Just as I wouldn’t have believed
a year before moving to Kraków,

117
00:08:05,401 –> 00:08:09,843
being on Woodstock, bungee jumping
that I will do such things.

118
00:08:09,844 –> 00:08:15,257
So, if you’re afraid, hesitate
and not know what to do – just try.

119
00:08:15,258 –> 00:08:17,728
Go out somewhere,
change your job,

120
00:08:17,729 –> 00:08:21,885
change the place of residence,
talk to a person you like,

121
00:08:21,886 –> 00:08:24,743
take a chance,
do whatever you dream of.

122
00:08:24,744 –> 00:08:28,271
Even if you don’t know
what and where it will be,

123
00:08:28,272 –> 00:08:33,343
just search, try anything,
because going out to people, acting

124
00:08:33,344 –> 00:08:36,729
result in wonderful things in your life.

125
00:08:36,730 –> 00:08:40,600
And if you focus on something,
find some aim and ideas,

126
00:08:40,600 –> 00:08:44,100
then you’ll see,
when you act in this direction,

127
00:08:44,120 –> 00:08:46,580
what cool things will happen.

128
00:08:46,600 –> 00:08:50,600
Therefore, act,
don’t be afraid to move forward,

129
00:08:50,601 –> 00:08:54,585
because even if you don’t know
what it will lead to,

130
00:08:54,586 –> 00:08:56,771
acting always makes sense.

131
00:08:56,772 –> 00:09:01,713
Act, try different things
and don’t be afraid to risk a little,

132
00:09:01,714 –> 00:09:03,900
because it’s worth it.

133
00:09:03,920 –> 00:09:08,214
And now I’ll show you
how beautiful it’s here on the rooftop.

134
00:09:08,215 –> 00:09:10,800
You can see the entire Kraków.

135
00:09:10,801 –> 00:09:14,186
There’s St. Mary’s Basilica
and market square.

136
00:09:14,187 –> 00:09:17,257
I plan to spend
some time in the sun here.

137

Greetings. Subscribe if you want
to learn a little bit about

changing life, Amazon, books
