How to set up a blog on WordPress? Basic WordPress tools
Where to set up a blog? Only on WordPress. It is a free platform for creating blogs and websites. It offers amazing possibilities and provides a universal environment for any modification afterwards (e.g. adding a webshop and many others). Everyone can master the skills needed to have and run their own blog on WordPress.
Important: I do not recommend using the WordPress.com website, because it is a more expensive option (it is kind of a full package with hosting etc.), which at the same time blocks us from developing many opportunities in the future. The best option is free WordPress + own hosting. For many hosts, the free WordPress system will be installed automatically.
WordPress is a free and open platform. You do not have to pay for it and you can use it without limitations. Any developer can improve it and create appropriate plugins that you can then use on your blog. Once, to create a website you had to know HTML or pay huge money — today you just need to master the WordPress platform, which at first may seem a little complicated, but this is by far the best option. With it, you can create a simple blog as well as rich websites. Remember that there are other platforms for creating blogs and pages, which are paid or closed. WordPress is the best option and it is the most popular platform on the Internet.
I base my entire business on WordPress. My blog and my online courses are based only on WordPress and the appropriate plugins that can be installed to get the desired features.
Where to set up a blog? Each blog needs a hosting to put a WordPress platform there. There are thousands of offers on the market and most of them will not be a bad choice. I use Bluehost.com because it offers a good price and is one of the largest platforms in the world. It is also dead easy to use.
For beginners Bluehost, the best option will be “shared hosting” in basic or Plus. The Plus Version is for people who want to create more than one page or blog in one account.

How to set up a blog with your own domain? Before you create your blog, you need to decide what the blog will be about and what the name will be. The name is very important and must reflect what your blog and your site is about. For the name, unfortunately, you have to ensure the relevant matching domain is available so that you can buy and use it. The hardest part is to create a cool and unique name that will be accessible at the same time. I use unstoppabledomains.com to buy domains. Just check availability and make the purchase.
After purchasing a domain on your hosting, you connect it and you can start creating a site using WordPress right away.

WordPress is based on plug-ins. You can install any free or paid plugins on your website. If you think about blogging seriously, you should sometimes invest in paid tools. Of course, a large part of the plug-ins is free.
The whole charm of WordPress is that you can customize it to your needs. If you plan to create online courses, for example, it is worth investing in software that will simplify and automate the entire process. I use Publigo, which supports my entire online course store, automatically assigns access, manages payments, and even stores customers on the mailing list after purchase.
You also need to install a template on your WordPress. Template is kind of an graphical overlay that allows you to create a page graphically and functionally. There are both paid and free templates. I chose to use Mailchimp (it is called SmartTheme), as it is a template and a landing page creator combined in one.
One of the most basic rules for creating a blog is to collect emails of your users. On my blog, I use MailChimp, which collects emails of people signing up for, for example, my free course THE BEST TYPES OF ONLINE BUSINESS. You need to give value to users who, in return, decide to share their email address with you. With the mailing list, you can over time promote your new content, courses or recommend products through affiliate programs.
