The butterfly effect, or why it is worth to act now

The Butterfly Effect, or why it's worth acting

In this post, I will show you how the butterfly effect works and why it’s worth taking action even without knowledge and a specific plan. I know that many of you want to earn in your business and improve yourselves in many aspects of your life. Today, I will prove to you that taking active steps will eventually lead you to where you want to be. Even if you do not yet fully know your purpose.

What is the butterfly effect and does it really work?

Before I show you how the butterfly effect worked in my case, it’s worth explaining exactly what the butterfly effect is. Wikipedia defines this concept as follows:

The butterfly effect is a sensitive dependence on initial conditions, an anecdotal representation of deterministic chaos. In the eponymous anecdote, the flutter of a butterfly’s wings, for example in Ohio, may after three days cause a sandstorm in Texas. Examples of the butterfly effect include meteorological phenomena.

It sounds a bit complicated, but I’m sure most of you have seen the movie titled ‘The Butterfly Effect’ from 2004. We see there exactly how individual decisions over time have a very strong impact on our future. If you decide to take even one small step today, it can make a world of difference in your life situation down the line. That’s why it’s worth getting the ball rolling today and taking action even when we’re not sure it’ll bear fruit. I’m not talking about going in blindly here, but about consciously taking on challenges, learning, getting inspired, and trying out new stuff.

First event, or the book Instant Millionaire and my goals from tears Ago

If you follow my blog, you probably know that I have come out of a rather difficult situation in life. In 2012, I still lived in a small hometown with no prospects for the future. However, small steps and decisions changed my life over the years.

Reading a short book titled ‘The Instant Millionaire‘ triggered a series of events in my life. This book inspired me to set some goals and believe that I can shake things up. Nothing happened at once. However, the outlined goals and belief in my own abilities eventually led me to start changing my life and achieving those written goals. I didn’t know how to achieve all this, but I believed I could do it. Reading the book was a game changer, it made the future take a different turn. It was just such a butterfly effect caused by several hours of reading.

Below you can see a list of my goals from the beginning of 2012. I virtually had nothing at the time, and my life was definitely without prospects.

My goals written down in 2012

In the photo, you can clearly see what my dreams and goals were. I wanted to have a steady and secure income with a clear perspective for the future. I didn’t know how to achieve these goals, and I didn’t even write that I want to have my own business. If you follow my blog, you know perfectly well that I have achieved this goal. I created a business on Amazon with passive income and a well-earning blog. You can imagine how unrealistic those goals seemed to me at the time.

I also had a hankering to live in Cracow, in my own, modern apartment with a city view, complete with a balcony and an underground garage. Imagine how I felt when some time ago I found these written goals and realized that I live in such a apartment.

Although I don’t have the BMW that I dreamed of back then in my garage, I do have a car that I am very proud of. I could say that this goal is also somewhat achieved. I can probably afford a BMW now, but I’m not a fan of spending a lot of cash on a car. Especially since I work from home and don’t really need a car specifically. Maybe someday I’ll make a review of my current car.🙂

I have also achieved the goal of savings that I wanted to have. Today, I not only have those dream savings, but also my own business, which is largely automated and brings me very good income. By saying very good, I mean amounts of at least several thousand zlotys per month.

I did not achieve goal number four, but I did it consciously. I had ambitious musical goals, as I used to play the bass guitar. However, I quickly realized that I did not want to pursue this path and decided to look for other ways to make money and fulfill myself.

The second event, or the accidental work

Another event that set off the butterfly effect over time was working in a restaurant as a driver, then as a waiter, and finally as a manager. After about six months of moving to Cracow, I stumbled upon a restaurant in the downtown Cracow while looking for a job. Initially, I worked as a driver and then as a waiter for three years.

For many people, such random action and work doesn’t make sense in terms of achieving success, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and do anything, because I was in a difficult situation and even simple things were difficult for me at that time.

At work in the restaurant, I met many wonderful people and my current fiancée, who supports me incredibly in my business today. A colleague at work pointed me towards an online business that ultimately changed my life. My mean boss in turn motivated me to work on my own business, to finally leave my manager position and the give up my regular job. In the restaurant, I learned many valuable things and I still keep in touch with many people from that place. If I hadn’t taken action years ago and persevered in the work, which theoretically was poor, today I wouldn’t be writing this post.

The butterfly effect
I have worked in the restaurant for five years, first as a driver, then as a waiter, and finally as a manager.

I am extremely grateful that I decided to overcome my fear and just started to act. With my goals in mind, I deeply believed that sooner or later I would find a way to achieve what I desire. I read many books and searched for ideas for myself. This led me to the third event, which had incredible consequences in the future.

The event number three, or online business, Amazon, and book publishing

When I used to work as a waiter, I became very interested in the topic of making money online. I believe that most of my readers understand the fascination with this business. At some point, I came across the topic of publishing books on Amazon, and I just decided to give it a try.

I had no knowledge, but thanks to reading self-help books, I knew it was worth taking action and trying. I have published my first book. Despite poor sales, I did not give up and decided to invest in more books and an Amazon course. It was not easy, as I had no guarantee of success and I did not have much savings. Next, I published the second and third book. One of them became a bestseller in its category on Amazon, and then everything started to go in the right direction.

The year 2016 and the summer in Barcelona shortly after the release of the first books on Amazon. I will never forget checking my first Amazon sales results while lying on the beach—that's when I realized it's something I want to do.

While publishing books, I came across a certain individual from Belgium who became my mentor and helped me release subsequent products. I didn’t ask for it, but my actions in publishing on Amazon clearly impressed that person. The gentleman decided to teach me for free and motivated me to work. This led me to publish more books and simple products on Amazon again. My passive income was growing, and I was saving more and more capital.

My passion for personal development and online business has led me to a point where I decided to open my own blog, which you are currently reading. Thanks to this, I started earning and saving even more capital over time. This finally allowed me to leave my job and focus solely on the business.

This is what my workplace looks like today. Working on your own terms and in your own business is an incredible adventure

The butterfly effect and my current situation, as well as some motivation for you

As you see, these small insignificant actions that I took without any guarantee of success resulted in amazing events over time. I am writing these words from my splendid modern apartment overlooking Cracow, with a large balcony. After writing this article, I will take the elevator to the underground garage and get into my beloved car. Then I will pick up my fiancée from work and we will go to the cinema together.

I have substantial savings that exceed my goals set years ago, and my business will be making money for me while I’m at the cinema, for example. It was precisely this first book I read about personal development, stepping out of the comfort zone, working in a restaurant, and then deciding to enter the online business that led me to achieving those goals from 2012.

I do not write this to boast. Besides, there are many other people with significantly greater achievements to their name. However, I want to show you that even a person who was in a very difficult situation can change a lot in their life. The key to this is precisely the action that will bring you many changes and successes over time. The butterfly effect really works.

The butterfly effect really works and has allowed me to fulfill many dreams. Although the BMW from the list of goals is not in my garage yet, but all in good time! 🙂

The butterfly effect will also work for you—how to initiate future changes and successes today?

The butterfly effect works in the life of each of us. We often do not realize that what we do today has a huge impact on our future.

Buying a book for ten dollars today may change your thinking and in the next few years you may start creating your own business. Writing your goals for the entire year and even goals for the next ten years will subconsciously make you start looking for ways to achieve those goals. Even the first unsuccessful steps towards your business can eventually turn into a situation you wouldn’t even expect today.

Remember that a small child learning to walk and falling does not realize that someday they will run and ride a bike. Just like you, today you can take your first steps into the unknown, but remember that with time this will lead you to wonderful things. Do not be afraid to believe in your success. Success does not have to mean having millions in the bank and a super car, but it will be living life on your own terms. Life in accordance with our dreams.
