Who I am and a few words about me for the beginning
A few years ago, while working as a waiter in a Cracow restaurant, I became interested in online business. I had quite a bit of free time and heard about Amazon and the opportunities this platform offers. Knowing how many potential customers I can reach through Amazon, I decided to take action. However, it was harder to gain knowledge on this topic and I didn’t know how to start. I made a bunch of mistakes and wasted quite a bit of time and money in the beginning. Over time, I invested in online courses and next products I released more consciously. Today, I have dozens of e-books on Amazon Kindle and over 700 products in the form of paperback book/products on Amazon.
Before you start reading the article below, keep in mind that running any business requires hard work and consistency. There’s no such thing as a shortcut and quick money-making. Your results will always be as good as your input, and don’t expect miracles from reading articles and watching videos on YouTube. Articles of this kind aim to guide you and provide great ideas to make money from home, for a home business. However, at home you will have to work just as hard as being a full-time employee.
The only difference is that you won’t get paid immediately, and the amount will depend solely on your effectiveness, not the time you spend working. Treat your home business like a business—it’s not a hobby. If you decide to follow one of the directions described below, give yourself at least half a year and don’t expect results immediately. Some of the online business ideas below require years of work and only then do they yield the best results.
7 ideas for making money from home:
- Amazon Kindle—ebooks and digital products
This is where I started and I recommend you the same. Amazon Kindle allows for the publication of electronic books/eBooks, such as guides, information brochures, and fiction books—there are no limitations here. All you need to do is have your own text in English (you can simply outsource writing an article in English, for example, on UpWork.com) and a cover (on Fiverr.com, you can order a cover for your book starting from just $5). All you need to do is familiarize yourself with the Amazon platform and have a basic understanding of English.
You don’t have to write books, or even descriptions for these books. All of this you can delegate to people on the aforementioned websites and easily receive a simple digital product, which after being published the next day are already available worldwide, including in key markets such as the USA. All you need to do is upload the file with the text of our book, the cover, product information in the appropriate panel, and your book is available the next day on Amazon.
Remember, a book on Amazon Kindle doesn’t have to be a long novel (of course, it can be if you want). It works perfectly for selling simple guides on any topic, cookbooks, manuals, etc. There are no limits and the market is ever-growing. - Amazon and books/paperback books printed on demand
Amazon and print-on-demand paper books are the next step for those who have decided to publish their digital products on Amazon Kindle. Kindle Direct Publishing offers the opportunity to sell your content (which you may already be selling as an eBook) in the print-on-demand formula by shipping paper versions of this content to customers. Once again, it can be both a long novel and simple guides, coloring books for kids, diaries, and whatever you can think of. An interesting aspect here is that when selling paper products, you don’t have to offer only text, but practically anything that can be printed. It could even be a single motivational sentence on each page, wrapped in a nice cover, and the book is ready.
You might not believe it, but to publish a book virtually worldwide, all you need to do is upload an electronic file with any content and a cover. Amazon and Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) take care of everything for you—sales, payments, printing, shipping, and all you need to have is an account where Amazon will transfer your funds. You don’t have to invest a single penny in printing your products, as Amazon will print and deliver them for you.
For several years now, a very popular way to earn money without any personal investment has been publishing simple products in the form of so-called ‘low-content notebooks’. It’s nothing more than publishing paperback books on demand through the Amazon KDP platform. However, instead of complex content, we publish a book, for example in the form of a grid notebook, and we create a simple cover for such a product ourselves. The result is that within an hour, you can produce an interesting product to be sold worldwide without any input of your own. What’s more, you don’t need to have a registered business entity to do this, because all the time you use Amazon KDP that pays royalties.

- Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies
This is a way of earning that deviates a bit from selling your own products or services, but it’s very interesting and effective. I’ve been making increasingly larger amounts of money on cryptocurrencies for some time now, and if you’re interested in broadly understood earning on the internet, it’s definitely worth taking a closer look at cryptocurrencies—even additionally for the purpose of investing part of the earnings from other business presented here, because sooner or later you will face the problem of investing the money you’ve earned.
Earning through cryptocurrencies is about long-term investing or short-term trading. What is characteristic of cryptocurrencies is that their value can fluctuate quickly which gives a great chance to multiply the invested capital (or lose it). That’s why I wouldn’t call it a business, but more like investing and even a bit of gambling. I’ve adopted a strategy of consistently purchasing popular currencies like BTC and ETH and holding onto them for the long term.
This is the simplest option that doesn’t require any secret knowledge. If you find this interesting, you can try your hand at trading (I recommend the largest exchange in Poland, Zonda—formerly BitBay), by buying and selling cryptocurrencies regularly. However, this method requires staying up-to-date and it’s still very risky. In this post, I’ve delved into the topic of cryptocurrencies in more detail.
- Amazon FBA—Physical Products on Amazon
Among different ideas for making money from home, you can find ones that require another level of advancement and difficulty when it comes to selling your own products online. What mainly sets this particular type of business apart from the previous ones is the need for significantly larger financial and time investments. Unlike ordering text for our book (be it paperback or digital), here we have to order a physical product from the supplier in larger quantities and transport it to selected Amazon warehouses.
In the case of Amazon FBA, we are dealing with a fully-fledged business activity and the sale of physical products worldwide. This is involves more advanced business (in the case of books, we don’t have to invest in buying products). Selling physical products on Amazon happens through Amazon’s distribution centers located around the world, and you deliver your products to various sites depending on our target market. This is a business model for the advanced and it definitely requires more capital to invest, although everything really depends on what products we will be selling.
Amazon FBA, as a more challenging type of online business, also offers greater earning opportunities—remember, the harder something is, the fewer people do it, and the more you can earn.

- Blogging and YouTube
Another very interesting and creative way to run a business from home is blogging. Blogging is nothing more than creating valuable content for free and building relationships with your audience. This type of business differs from those previously described, as we’re not creating paid products in this case (at least not right away and not always). Our task here is to build a relationship with the client by providing them valuable information for free.
This is a very time-consuming process, it requires commitment and knowledge of the topic discussed on the blog. You won’t get any payment for your work for a long time in this case, but a well-developed personal blog is something that allows for very effective promotion of any products—both own and from third parties.
When creating a blog, you need to use the right tools. The basic tool is WordPress, which is a free open-source platform. You install it on purchased server and thus create your website and blog. If you want to create your own blog or website, I’ve detailed it in this post.
Don’t forget about creating video content as well. It’s essential in these times, as most audiences expect information in this very form. You can also supplement your efforts by creating podcasts and using platforms like Instagram, Twitter, etc. The topic of your blog should ideally be based around your passions and interests. Only by doing this will you be able to create content with pleasure without any gratification for the first few months, or even years.
By building a community around your blog through offering high-quality content, you are able to monetize your blog over time by selling products in the form of online courses or through affiliation. The cost of creating this type of business is not high (at least not financially). The biggest expense is time and effort, as creating a blog requires long-term thinking and any earnings from the blog are always backed by free work for many months and years.

6. Affiliate marketing and partnership programs
Affiliate marketing involves earning commissions from sales by recommending selected products. How to get such a commission? All you need to do is to wait when someone buys a specific product through your recommendation (via our link). Simple and challenging at the same time. The concept of earning from home is quite straightforward. The challenge here is to build a proper relationship and trust with the client, so that they trust you and buy products on your recommendation. How to do it? All it takes is to create a good blog based on your passions, and then you can recommend products related to the subject of your blog.
The biggest challenge here is to create a community where you could your products. Apart from blogging, you can create, for example, groups on Facebook, fan pages, mailing lists, but to have such tools, you need to offer free high-quality content to attract people. The best results come from combining all tools, that is, video content (YouTube), blog (WordPress), mailing list, fanpage, groups, Instagram, etc.
The available affiliate programs are diverse and the choice depends solely on the topic your community is interested in. I personally recommend online courses and software the most, as these areas can yield the highest (often even 50%) commissions. A simple example of an affiliate program is recommending online courses in my store here.
- Informational products/online courses
The last idea for a home business is publishing informational products. An informational product involves mainly offering information in the form of online courses, eBooks, etc. The easiest thing about creating an informational product is… creating it. However, selling it is the hardest part. Truthfully, informational products, just like affiliate marketing, should be based on a solidly built relationship with the client (blog, YouTube etc.)
How to create such products? This is going to be a slightly more complicated process and it requires more complex skills than, for example, publishing a book on Amazon. You will need to have a website/blog on WordPress. One of the cool things about WordPress is that it has a huge number of plugins that allow to create paid access zones. Thanks to WordPress, you can integrate payments, mailing lists, and other tools that will allow you to create your online course, landing pages for collecting emails, and for example, pages for direct selling of your eBook. - Earning as a Freelancer on Fiverr.com
Finally, I’m presenting one more additional and very interesting way. You can work as a freelancer for clients from all over the world, for example on Fiverr.com. If you have certain skills, you can announce yourself on such a platform and create offers for potential clients. The range of skills you can monetize there is vast. I order book covers, graphics, product descriptions, book promotions, and many more on Fiverr. If you’re pretty good at English, have the right skills and want to develop them, then working on Fiverr could be an interesting option for you. Just like with Amazon, you earn in a strong currency and this can be profitable, especially for people in Poland.
It’s not exactly a passive income, like for example Amazon, but for someone who has specific skills, it’s a great option for additional or even steady income over time.

All ideas for making money from home and each type of online business require commitment and hard work. It’s also worth investing in creating or purchasing products (writing an article/book, ordering physical products, buying the right tools for creating a blog and informational products). So why an online business? Because it offers the possibility to start from scratch with small steps here and now, without giving up your current job. You are capable of kick-starting, for example, the publication of your simple product like a book on Amazon during your free time after work.
You don’t have to invest large amounts and daily consistent work can lead you to very good results after a year. Remember, by releasing just one simple book a month, you’ll have twelve of them by the end of the year. You invest gradually and learn constantly. Don’t be fooled by the quick ‘making money online’ schemes—by creating products and giving something of yourself, over time you’ll start to have a profitable business that would contribute a lot to others.
